Wedding Hair Care

Hair care tips for brides in the run up to the wedding day.

Begin a hair care routine at least six months before the wedding day to ensure your hair is healthy and strong and looks shiny.

  1. Wash your hair regularly to keep it clean and free of dirt and oil buildup as well and product build up. A clarifying shampoo once a week will help rid the hair of any build up and keep it in a good condition.

  2. Use a good quality conditioner to keep your hair soft and silky. Remember to only apply conditioner mid length to ends only and not on the root.

  3. Avoid using excessive heat on your hair, and always use a heat protector when using styling tools.

  4. Get regular trims. If you prefer not to have too much cut off ask your stylist to do what I like to call a “hair dustings” where they literally trim the slightest amount off to keep the split ends at bay.

  5. A balanced diet that includes plenty of protein, vitamins, and minerals will help keep your hair healthy. Collagen supplements are also good for hair growth and condition.

  6. Make sure you drink plenty of water to keep your hair and scalp hydrated. I also like to use a scalp brush to gently massage the scalp and keep it healthy and flake free.

  7. Be careful not to use products that contain harsh chemicals that can damage your hair.

  8. Have your hair coloured/ highlighted and trimmed 2 weeks before the wedding date in order to allow the colour and cut to settle.

Follow these tips to ensure you have beautiful hair on your wedding day.
